FUNERAL SERVICE DIPLOMA QUALIFICATIONS

The revised Diploma in Funeral Directing recognised within the industry as the gold standard is now available.

.Entry Criteria

1) Registration for this qualification is for funeral service employees working within the funeral service

2) Award of the Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration (Dip.FAA) must have been achieved prior to registration for the Diploma in Funeral Directing qualification.

3) Students must be able to provide workplace evidence of funeral directing responsibilities, including the conducting of a number of funerals within the period of study, to be able to achieve the requirements of assessment.

                               DIPLOMA FOR FUNERAL ARRANGERS AND ADMINISTRATORS

The Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration (47 Credits) is  available for student registration – online registration for this qualification is only applicable for employees currently working in the funeral service.

We are pleased to announce that the Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration replaces the previous National Certificate in Funeral Arranging and Administration. This qualification upgrade is in response to receiving external approval by Open College Network North East Region for creating a high quality qualification worthy of internal award by the National Association of Funeral Directors at Diploma Level 2.

This qualification is specifically designed for funeral arrangers and administrators as a stand-alone qualification, or can be taken as a pre-requisite qualification for Funeral Arrangers and Administrators and Funeral Directors wishing to proceed to the revised NAFD Diploma in Funeral Directing* subject to the provision of workplace evidence.

Please note: funeral service operatives / assistants wishing to progress into a funeral arranging role, should in the first instance discuss their aspirations with their employer and in doing so,  agree to gain work-based experience in funeral arranging and administration to be able to complete this particular qualification.

Professional Fees

This qualification offers acquisition of the comprehensive knowledge and skills required for funeral arranging and administration, and can be achieved within a period of 12 months.

The registration period for this qualification is for a maximum period of 24 months.

Both the Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration and the Diploma in Funeral Directing qualifications are managed, delivered and assessed in totality by the NAFD.Both qualifications are endorsed for quality assurance purposes by Birmingham City University, and approved by OneAwards, for the level of the qualification relevant for internal award and associated credit allocation.
